Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system developed by Microsoft as part of Windows NT family of operating systems. Introduced on September 30, 2014,  was released on July 29, 2015. 

First introduced in April 2014 at the Conference on Build, Windows 10 aims to address shortcomings in the user interface first introduced by Windows 8 by adding mechanical enhancements designed to improve the user experience for devices that no touch screen (such as desktop computers and laptops), including the resurrection of the Start menu is visible on Windows 7 virtual desktop system, and the ability to run applications in a Windows Stock windows on the desktop than full-screen mode.

It was later reported that Microsoft is working on an update to Windows 8, codenamed Threshold, and it was speculated Threshold which will be branded as "Windows 9", "Windows X", or "Windows One" (referring to several Microsoft products recently with the same brand, like the Xbox One and onedrive) on the public release.  Similarly, the "Blue" (which produces Windows 8.1), Threshold also be a collection of updates that are coordinated across multiple Microsoft products and services. 

In July 2014, the new CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella explained that the company plans to "streamline the next version of Windows from three operating systems into one operating system convergence single screens of all sizes", together Windows, Windows Phone, and Windows Embedded about architecture a common and unified application ecosystem. However, Nadella stated that the internal changes that will have an effect on how the operating systems that are marketed and sold.

Threshold was officially unveiled during a media event on September 30, 2014 under the name of Windows 10; Myerson was mentioned that Windows 10 will be a "platform is the most comprehensive ever" Microsoft, providing a single platform that is united for desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and all-in-one.  He stressed that Windows 10 would take steps towards the restoration of the mechanical user interface of Windows 7 in order to improve the experience for users on non-touch devices, noting criticism interface touch-oriented Windows 8 with keyboard and mouse users, and on the contrary.  Despite these concessions, Myerson noted that the touch-oriented interface will "evolve" is also on Windows 10.  in describing the changes, Myerson equate the two operating systems for electric cars, comparing Windows 7 to the first generation of Toyota Prius hybrid, and Windows 10 to the all-electric Tesla-considering both to be an extension of the technology was first introduced in its predecessor. 

In terms of operating system naming, Myerson refused to elaborate on why Microsoft skip directly to Windows 10 from 8 instead of numbering the number 9, simply states that "based on the products that come in, and how different our approach will be a whole, it would not be right". He also joked that they could not call it "Windows One" because they've made a Windows 1.  However, critics also theorized-based on a post by Reddit users claiming to work for Microsoft-that the decision to pass 9 is to prevent problems with application the older who may have been coded to detect Windows 95 and 98 to check the string "Windows 9".
